India Set to Replace Either AUS or ENG for Historic 150th Test Match

India Set to Replace Either AUS or ENG for Historic 150th Test Match

The upcoming 150th Test match between Australia and England, scheduled to take place at the MCG, has generated significant interest among cricket fans. Enthusiasts from around the world are eagerly awaiting the event, hoping to witness a memorable occasion on March 25, 2027.

In the meantime, the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has revealed that if either Australia or England is replaced by India, the revenue for this historic event could quadruple. They have expressed their willingness to initiate talks with both the Australian and English Cricket Boards.

“Well, both these nations’ coffers are filled by the money India brings! So, why not?” said former Indian Cricket Captain, Sunil Gavaskar, as he, along with Ravi Shastri and Harsha Bhogle, prepares to secure another lucrative pay package for their commentary roles.

When contacted, a representative from the England Cricket Board acknowledged that discussions were ongoing but expressed doubt about being able to compete with Australia in giving up a spot. “The Australian board is known to go to great lengths to accommodate India’s wishes,” they said. They further added, “After all, it was the Australian board that didn’t even offer support to Andrew Symonds when Harbhajan Singh called him a monkey, and they would never do anything that could disturb a tour.”

On the other hand, the Australian Cricket Board responded, “This 150th anniversary test comes once in a century, and while it’s significant, it’s not as important as the IPL for our players. We’d be happy to give up our spot to India, as this would allow more Australian players to join the IPL and secure their financial futures.”

Our reporters also reached out to the ICC Chairman, who seemed confident about the possibility. “After all, cricket is no longer just a game; it’s all about the money,” he stated.

In a different vein, the President of WWE remarked, “No one can claim that WWE is the worst-ever league in terms of match-fixing—after all, we don’t stand a chance against the BCCI.”

Additionally, we managed to speak with a few top Indian cricketers who expressed their excitement about the potential changes. “We’re just happy! But please make sure the venue is changed to Mumbai and one of the galleries is converted into a five-star suite, as we can’t be traveling from the hotel to the ground just to play cricket.”

CRICKET LOVELY CRICKET!

"Hold my Beer" - Illaiyaraaja's ultimatum

"Hold my Beer" - Illaiyaraaja's ultimatum

I don’t mind being biased because, let’s face it, it's the need of the hour.

It was the early '80s, and we were fortunate enough to be born at the perfect time, getting the best of both worlds. I was in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India, a city that had more highs than lows. There were a few things that would forever etch themselves in my memory.

  • Would this guy named Kapil Dev be as good as Imran Khan?
  • Why is the sports page always at the second last page in The Hindu? Can’t they put it on the front page?
  • When is Balu Mahendra’s next movie coming out?
  • Is Jaws really a true story?
  • How could Rajini, who dances like a wooden spoon, have more hits than Kamal Hassan?
  • Will India ever beat Pakistan in a cricket game?
  • Why do I have to study B.Com when I can be a medical student?

But the mother of all questions back then was:

"What's next from Illaiyaraja?"
